As I type to you all, I am traveling on vacation in South Florida. I spent the day around Delray Beach with my girlfriend, bar hopping and testing out restaurants.
I brought a new pair of shoes down south with me. Blue suede bucks have been on my watch list for a long time. Before I continue, get Elvis out of your mind. Bucks are awesome shoes because they're wider than oxfords--making them more appropriate for casual wear.
Go out to Nordstrom, Macys, even JC Penny and you'll find yourself a pair of wingtip shoes--they're popular to say the least (Sperry's makes a really cool pair). Having a casual pair of shoes with the wingtip stitching allows you to wear them with a suit (if you were thinking about the suit and sneakers look) but not look like a douchebag.
They're perfect for a night on the town, or dinner--at the restaurant DADA (french for Hobby-Horse) in Delray Beach for example. If you're in the area check it out.
- Suede shoes shouldn't be worn in the rain. But feel free to step on them--wear and tear on casual shoes is how it should be.
- Wingtips are always appropriate.
- Check out DADA if you're ever in Delray Beach.
